It's my birthday. Yeah, I am on vacation with all my boys! It has been a fun and relaxing day so far here in Austin.
So, we are here in Austin at Jeffrey and Kate's house. AWESOME! We went from hot as *##@ outside camping (poor choice on my part for booking a tent sight in Fort Worth) to good old AC and a real bed. Love it!
We got here Friday around lunchtime after taking the backroads from Fort Worth. It was a nice drive and we picked up an delicious strawberry pie on the way. You two were so excited to be here and see your cousins again. It is so nice that we just saw them about a month ago and got to see them again so soon (and maybe again in the fall when they come up for Kate's High School Reunion). We are here until Thursday which is a great break from driving.
We went to a food truck park for dinner on Friday (yum!) and then to Barton Springs Pool on Saturday (huge pool & over 18 feet deep). It was cold but that was okay because the temperature was something like a 101 degrees. It was very natural (rocks on the bottom & you could see where the spring fed in and went out).
Last night you all hung with the babysitter while Uncle Jeff, Aunt Kate, Dad and I went out. They were showing off their new town. And I have to say it is pretty nice. Lots to do and see, very hip.
Today we went to Deep Eddy Pool, also a spring fed pool (not quite as big and more pool like and definitely not as cold). You two have to be tired considering how much you wrestled with Dad and Uncle Jeff. I unfortunately did not get too many pictures, I was in the pool without my phone trying to stay cool.
Tonight we are off to have dinner out at a new place we found when we were out last night. After that we are going to see the bats fly from under the bridge (I am excited to see them, although I heard about them when Flat Stanley returned to you this spring Asher, after his stay here).
