Well our last stop on our grand adventure was Mammoth Cave. It was great. We pulled into our campground and settled in quickly. You guys have gotten so quick at setting up and breaking down camp. You are super quick when it involves water (rain when packing up & the bribe of swimming when settling up). Whatever works is my theory.
We had a great time hanging at the campground. I love kid friendly campgrounds (pools, waterslides, movies after dark). It makes my job so much easier. Our night ended watching Frozen on the hill. What a relaxing night.
Our morning began early the next day with a cave tour at 8:30am. Mammoth Cave is the largest cave system in the world. And we when we started off we had to descend approximately 400 stairs that were about a foot wide. You definitely can not be a big person and go on this tour. I don't know how people taller than me do it at all. I was ducking everytime I turned around of walking with my head sideways. I din't take too many pictures because I was too worried about my head.
Jack, you kept turning around and telling me to watch my head because the tour guide kept saying it. Asher you walked right behind the tour guide and asked a few really good questions. I could tell you were listening to what she was saying.
After the tour we decided that it was time to hit the road. This place is on our list to return to since it is halfway between our house and Marcea & Gene's. It will be the perfect place for you boys to have a great time.
Anyway, the lore of home and waking up in our own beds kept us going all day. We pulled into the driveway about 10:30pm.
I will be doing one more post after this one. I want to do a best and worst list with you guys, but I think we need a few days to digest the trip. Although you two don't miss a beat & are already busy with friends and went to Youth Night at the pool with friends tonight and are having friends sleep over. Oh to be 9 and 10 and have endless energy!
